What same day actually means here
Plenty of companies advertise same day and mean "we will call you back today." Here is how it works with us, honestly.
We are based in Boston and run the metro off I-93 and Route 2, which is what makes same day realistic rather than a slogan. Boston proper, Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville, Watertown and Quincy are short runs for us. Medford, Malden, Arlington, Newton, Waltham and Weston are typically under half an hour outside of rush hour. Lexington and Weston are the long legs, and those are the ones we schedule properly rather than squeeze in at the end of a day.
So: call before noon and in most of that area we can be at your door the same day. Call at four in the afternoon and we will be straight with you about whether it is today or first thing tomorrow, rather than booking you and missing it. Refrigeration always jumps the queue, residential or commercial, because food spoils and everything else can wait a day.
One more thing that costs other people their afternoon: parking and access in this city. If you are in a walk up, a condo with a loading dock window, or a street with resident only permits, tell us on the phone. Do you charge a trip fee or a weekend surcharge?
No. One diagnostic, $125 residential and from $150 commercial, waived when you approve the repair. No trip fee, no fuel surcharge, no weekend rate, no parking charge. The flat quote you get before work starts is the number you pay.
Do I pay anything if I decide not to go ahead with the repair?
Only the diagnostic. If you approve the repair it is waived, so the repair price is all you pay. If you decide against it, you owe the $125 for the visit and the diagnosis, and you keep the written quote, including our honest opinion on whether the machine is worth fixing at all.
